One Man's Trash
On display May 2025 - May 2027 - Grove Street between 10th & 11th, Downtown Boise
One Man's Trash is a sculpture in collaboration with the City of Boise referencing a statistic from the Boise Climate Roadmap about the average amount of waste produced by Boise households each month. That number is 138lb per household. The sculpture is of a Cooper's Hawk whose nest sits atop a 138lb pile of trash. The Cooper's Hawk is the most prevalent bird of prey species that currently inhabits our Ada County Landfill in order to keep seagull populations in check. The sculpture is made entirely from scrap metal, most of which came from the artist's home.
